I have new pictures of the pcs I have received and new ones I have made.  I am actually having brain freeze.  I can’t come up with any different ideas.  I joined up for the next swap which will be dragonflys at least that will give me a direction to start at.   Well, here we go these pictures are for entertainment and for you to enjoy.

So, these are the pcs I have received so far.  Isn’t amazing how different they are?  It is great to get the pc in the mail.  A sweet little present just for me. I really need to get back to quilting.  I bought some nice Christmas fabric at Patches, in Mt Airy.  They are having Christmas in July.  I guess that wasn’t a surprise to hear.  It is such a common thing for stores to do.  I thought ahead and brought a pattern I already had so I knew how much fabric to buy with out going overboard with my money.  I was quite proud of myself.  I usually just buy this and that and in the end there isn’t enough of anything to make a whole quilt.   Now I need to make the quilt.

Postcards

Well I haven’t been idol.  With school out for the summer and kids being home it can really put a damper on anything I want to accomplish.  I have been working on the postcards for the Art2mail #48 pc swap.  I like making them.  In a short amount of time I can finish one and that makes me feel good.  I am amazed at how different the cards have turned out.  I have taken pictures and they are posted for your amusement. Enjoy

These are 3 of the post cards I received from the PCS.  Look at how different they are, WOW.  They are pretty cool in my book. They are from Judy in IA, Kris in MN and Linda in WA.   I am going to try some embroidery on my next batch (machine embroidery) along with the patchwork.

So far I have managed to get my sewing supplies (machine, iron, board, materials, etc) out of the dining room and back down to my sewing room in the basement.  It was a lot easier taking everything up the stairs over the course of a couple of week.  I hate to clean!!!!  Now  my sewing room( as you can imagine )is a total disaster and I have to arrange everything again.  maybe I can take a couple of weeks to put it back together.  Not one of my better ideas.

I am going to get back to working on my PCs, so next week I can surprise someone.

I’ll write that down in my notebook so I don’t forget LOL

I have just added 3 more postcards for my swap.  I love making these little works of art.  It takes my awhile to come up with an idea, but after that it is quite simple.  I need to find the quilt I was working on it now under a very large pile of scraps I have been cutting for the postcards.  Oh well.

Since school is out for the summer my days are much more busy as most of you already know.  I have been working on these little post cards which I can finish in a short amount of time.

Hubby’s new job has him traveling for weeks at a time.  So keeping things moving and trying to keep some sort of order around here has been very taxing on the brain.  Not much ME time.  I was used to him being around all the time so I could go and hang out with friends during the day once in awhile.  Or even go to the quilt shop and just visit with the ladies who work there to get some inspiration.   He’s loving his job and is very happy that is inportant, so when he gets home I’ll do the ME thing.

First postcard

I had a good afternoon.  I went to Toni’s house and she taught me how to make a postcard for the swap I have joined.  This is my first postcard I guess it turned out okay.  She also taught me how to paper piece,  we used a circular coffee filter as the paper.  The shape turned out sort of like a fan, I thought that was pretty cool and easy.

I am so happy, I found my camera!  Now I just have to wait for the battery to recharge and I can show some pictures.  I signed up for the Miniature Booty Swap Round 2.  I like doing the little quilts.  I guess the 1st quilt got lost in the mail, I never heard from my swapper.  I guess I should say I’m sorry if she never received it.  I’ll hope for better luck this round.   I am also going to do a Quilted Postcard Swap.  I have   never done this before.  Like the Mini Booty Swap I’m sure I’ll learn something new about this technique, too.

Well, I don’t have any new pictures.  I’ve had a busy week.  Baby-sitting for my grand-daughter (Olivia)on Monday made me very sore one Tues. Tues also had a dr. apt. Hubby and   I  took the 2 younger boys and we went to Strasburg PA to the RR museum. We stopped at The Quilt Block, quilt shop and I bought material to make my son a new quilt for his bed.  We then proceeded to Picca’s Pizza somewhere near Phili.  We drove around Upper Darby, that is where my hubby is from. and then the very long drive home. (3 1/2 hrs.)  Thursday we went to see Indiana Jones it was great !   I started to get a cold and boy oh boy is it kicking me but good.  My hubby is  in Fla at our nephew’s wedding, Clearwater Beach Marriott Suites @ Sand Keys.

I really hope by tomorrow I can get some sewing done.  I haven’t done any sewing since last weekend while Toni was here.  She can get a lot accomplished in a short amount of time.   We worked in my dining room and I was able to get quilting done on  a project I started awhile ago.

Well, I finially finished the Christmas Gift.  I’ll be taking it to my oldest son’s house tonight.  They probably forgot all about it by now.   I know that the colors in the bedroom are no longer black, red, and white.  Maybe they will switch back again.  This was another class I took, called Circles, Circles, Circles.  Believe me there is a much easier way to put a circle or two on a quilt than the way we were taught at this class.  As a matter of fact the small circle on the bottom left I just came up with my own idea and got it done in minutes rather than the hours it took for the other 2.  I am glad it is done and it turned out just fine.
